   PIPE RUPTURE VALVES

Flow sensitive, pressure activated valves act as a “velocity fuse” to retard the downward motion of a descending
elevator to provide a gradual stop.

Blain PRV rupture valve can be mounted in any position directly onto the cylinder inlet. In the event of failure in the main cylinder line or where the down speed exceeds allowable limits, the PRV valve closes and bringing the car to a smooth stop.

Features:

• Up to 3” size for flow rates up to 546 GPM, up to 1500 PSI operating range
• Fully adjustable closing rate. Manual lowering around the valve when set
• Minimum pressure loss in the up direction

Standard valves in stock:

Available options:

*Twin cylinder systems the connecting the pilot ports of two valves and ensures that both valves close almost simultaneously.

Lowering speed can be preset to lower the car to the bottom floor after it has been slowed down by the closing of the valve to allow the escape of passengers.

Electrical switch actuated when the valve closes and serves to initiate a warning signal or to shut down the elevator.
230V @ 6A NO and NC contacts.

90° connections.
